Failed 11+ twice and after leaving Secondary Modern School attended Portsmouth College of Technology. After achieving ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels studied for an External London University Degree in physics. Studied for a Ph.D. Physics at Essex University between 1965 and 1969. After further study entered Further Education following a short term supply teaching in London. Worked in Further Education Colleges for over thirty years and involved in a very wide range of activities associated with technical and vocational education and training. Wrote extensively throughout my career many of the articles are on this website. Retired as principal of a large FHE college and continued to work part-time in technical and vocational education in UK and abroad.
Other interests include China and Chinese Culture, History and language and Film Noir.
